My inspiration for painting the ocean, waves, sky and shore are part of my spiritual connection with God. The constant movement of the sea, the waves cresting and breaking, the pounding of the surf, the cry of the gulls and the taste of salt on my lips is my inspiration. I actually can close my eyes and be there in that moment of sitting on warm sand and feeling the warmth of grains of sand beneath my fingers. There are paintings that are created from these very feelings and memories. Then, there are those paintings that are from an actual place and time. There are also those works that demand to be painted, and the creative process flows and all sense of time is lost. Many times there is a blending of all of the above, and I experience absolute bliss.
